The brown laminate parts were the mock up to proof the method.
The diamonds were first put on a 1/4" core and cut to individual diamonds. Then carefully applied to the substrate which already had the tongue and groove joints. The layout and machining for this application was pretty critical. Many test cuts before making parts.
